LED Christmas lights are a preferred choice of many people to lighten up their homes during Christmas and add to the festivity of the event. Traditionally, hanging up Christmas lights was seen as one of the most challenging tasks, but LED lights have make this whole process a fun filled activity.
Christmas LED lights, as the name shows, feature Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as opposed to conventional small sized incandescent bulbs. A LED light is more or less similar to an incandescent bulb apart from the fact that it doesn’t contain filament that can get fused and take the entire strand along with it. Another benefit associated with this type of light is that it doesn’t produce excessive amounts of heat or misuses electricity.
It has been a long time since LEDs first appeared in the market, but until not very long ago they were considered unsuitable for Christmas lighting. One reason for this was that the LEDs were only available in red color. In addition, they lacked that brightness needed to lighten up a special event like Christmas. Today, LED Christmas lights offer a range of different designs and sizes. They come in a variety of different colors and offer the same amount of brightness as standard incandescent lights. The final outcome is a strand of lights that require only 10% electricity of the more widely used incandescent counterparts. LED lights are long-lasting and are suitable for prolonged usage. They are also easy to care for and can be simply rolled up and kept away when not in use.
Another popular choice for Christmas lighting are the solar Christmas lights. Unlike LED lights, solar lights are powered by the sun and don’t require electricity. Most consumers prefer this type of lighting because it is a more environmentally friendly option compared to lights requiring electricity. Another advantage of using solar lights is that they can switch on automatically when lighting is needed and switch off when it is not.
Solar powered lights are simple to set up for most applications and don’t need extensive wiring as is the case with other electrical lighting. These lights will cost you more than the LED lights initially, but allow you to save money in the long run due to the reduced electricity consumption. However, Solar Christmas lights may not be able to offer the same brightness as their LED counterparts.
